We are finally in Halifax, and I should be blogging again. I'd even like to be blogging again, but it isn't easy to get back into the habit, especially with an infestation of fruit flies, 59 unpacked boxes, and kids with runny noses and night time fevers.
But I saw the coolest spelling today on a message board. Disreguarding. I want to use it in a sentence. I've been disreguarded all day. I think the definition is self explanatory.
It's tough to get a comment posted here since you are so persnicketty about spelling errors.
ReplyDeleteI was going to suggest that disreguard had been spelled wrong, but I wasn't sure whether disreguard was aniaspelling or part of that funky British/Canadian thing where y'all throw in random extra 'U's just for the hell of it - you know like in honoUr and coloUr. As if maybe U doesn't get enough attention or something.
Then I was going to suggest that you also might consider the real cool word that my housekeeper used to use - which was disunderstood - as in she disunderstood what I was saying when I asked her to feed the kids early - and I mentioned that she was Jamaican but you didn't like the way I spelled Jamacian so I had to repost my thought again with the proper spelling so I would not look like some sort of ignorant American who doesn't know how to spell the word for someone who comes from Jamaica.
